How do I post LexisNexis stuff re: Harriet Meirs?
Do I have to follow the four paragraph rule for stuff I get through LN? Some of the stuff is old and probably doesn' even have a link.

Interesting article about her:

HEADLINE: The unseen power: Dallas native controls the presidential paperwork

BYLINE: Ken Herman, American-Statesman Washington Staff

BODY:
WASHINGTON -- As Texas Lottery Commission chairwoman, Harriet Miers spent months as then-Gov. George W. Bush's first line of defense when scandal and intrigue threatened to ignite into the last thing a presidential candidate needs.

Now, from the Oval Office, Bush counts on Miers on a more full-time basis -- memo by memo, speech by speech, letter by letter -- as she serves as official conduit for all the pieces of paper that get to the president.

Miers, in the positions of staff secretary and assistant to the president, is among the most important, least visible members of the Bush team, according to top White House staffers.

"She has probably got the most powerful position that the people don't recognize, and she is invaluable," said White House Chief of Staff Andy Card, who refers to Miers as "one of the superstars in the administration." ..........

Like Cheney, she probably just selected herself!

1. Hmph.
Makes it sound kind of like Jeb Bartlett appointing Mrs. Landingham to the SCOTUS.

2. I'd rather have Mrs. Landingham than
the five clowns currently on the court.

5. What is Bush* going to do without her now?
She has been wiping his ass for a decade now. Whatever will he do to replace her? Maybe he will try and wipe his own ass for once. that ought to be interesting....
