Before `08....could we advertise on milk cartons?
I`m a life-long fan of "kitchen table politics" so this milk carton campaign may be just the ticket. Perhaps we could rig up a phone number, like 1-800-REAL DEM and snag a candidate who actually stands for something. I`m thinking maybe someone who isn`t scared to death to point to a quagmire and say "quagmire" or someone who`s a little bored with cocktail parties and opts for a tour through a boarded-up factory.

Truth be told, I`m stretched to my limits over the new Democratic Party, where someone in charge apparently spread the word that Real Patriots don`t do opposition....or if they do, they make sure to start off with "My friends across the aisle." Particularly troubling is the view of the empty Capitol steps where real Democrats should be standing and screaming, given the number of body bags coming home from Iraq and the number of bodies still missing in Louisiana and Mississippi. These people wouldn`t wait five minutes for room service but they`re willing to wait five weeks and still not holler about a lost child buried in the broken levee`s muck.

Makeovers are hot on the teevee, so let`s try it in `08. Let`s get that Frank Luntz guy to wire up all us DUers to one of his machines.
Every time he says "Kill them there so they don`t kill us here" we`ll make that green line sink. If he says "national health care" or "Geneva Conventions" we`ll send it upwards `til the machine starts smoking. We`ll be....what`s that buzzword?....proactive, just like our leaders were when they helped Bush try out his new pre-emptive stike policy.

I`m right ready for change. Enough of the lovefests in the Rose Garden. How about a Real Democrat making a visit to a coal mine or even a shoe factory, if we still have one? I`m kind of sickened by the namby-pamby beltway stuff. It`s like watching neo-fascists play with a pile of Gumby Dolls.
