3. give all those groups a clear choice to be FOR, not Corporate lite |
|
One reason some of these people choose the GOP is it offers a clear set of priorities and actually works toward them (with the exception of that pesky balanced budget, that they are only for when Democrats are in charge).

4. They're all pretty weird |
|
I picked anti-choice women, because if you decide in your own life you don't want to ever have anything to do with birth control or abortion, then that's your business, but then they want to be able to control what somebody else can do... Well, I know why they say they do this, but still. It's hypocritical of them and aside from all the things you might say about it, doesn't 'help anybody' in ways that I can see.

They're all over the map, from the far left to the far right. When somebody says they're Libertarian, I never know what to think. I know they're supposed to be for limited government, but their opinions about choice and religion are sometimes pretty right-wing.

6. There are rich gays and rich Blacks that |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 09:58 AM by calico1
won't really feel the effect of laws that are not favorable toward them because they have money and power. And of course there have always been women who believe that the "menfolk" should tell the "womenfolk" what to do. So bizarre as they might be I can see where that comes from. But poor people and middle class people that struggle to pay the bills? With each election cycle they lose more and more. And every four years they march into the voting booth and pull the levers AGAIN for the GOP and for getting even more screwed than they already are. THAT, I cannot comprehend. :banghead:

7. See, I understand the poor and middle class more than anti-choice women. |
|
Summing it up in one word why I understand them more: bigotry.

8. That is true for many of them. |
|
But while defending their bigoted views their standard of living goes down farther with each election cycle. I don't get how someone can think "I may be almost starving but at least the GOP will keep the Blacks out of my neighborhood" .....or whatever it is they think. Seems like they are biting off their noses to spite their faces.

9. I agree with you completely on that one. |
|
Alls I'm saying is I can understand that a little more than anti-choice women saying "Please, take my rights away. I don't want anything in return."
At least poor people are keeping minorities and gay people down in return for their "sacrifice".
Surely, neither group makes much sense to me overall though.

10. Yes but a lot of women believe they will go |
|
to Hell. They don't see abortion as a right. Of course, most of the ones who feel this way have never been in the situation nor have they ever had a person close to them in the situation. But you are right. Overall, none of these groups really makes sense.
