Lou Dobbs to Judy Miller: "I will not forgive Fitzgerald for what he did"
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/10/05.html#a5234

Lou Dobbs: Judy's Knight in Shinning Armor

Judy gave an interview to Lou and was he ever angry at Fitzgerald.

Video-WMP low res. Bittorrent is down for a while

Dobbs: I will not forgive Fitzgerald for what he did to you. I think it is an onerous, disgusting abuse of government power, and that of Judge Hogan, straightforwardly.

Judy on Prison: ...the most soulless place I had ever been....It was demeaning. It was degrading. It was very lonely."

Atrios says: Who knows how lives could've been improved if Judy had spent her time covering prison conditions rather than pushing phantom threats.

1. Fitzgerald isn't going to lose any sleep over your inability to forgive.
Might as well slap him with a Kleenex, Lou, for all the effect you'll have on him.

Rock on, Fitz, rock on!

41. Dobbs should just stick to covering the Outsourcing issue
And not open his stupid mouth about things he doesn't understand..unless he's trying to cover up for Judy-- it certainly seems that he's been going out of his way to do so for the last several months.

Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 11:27 PM by zidzi
Didn't judy, judy, judy, put herself in jail?

Jon Stewart had a little of the judy clip on and I couldn't stand to hear her sanctimonious voice so I muted her and listened to what Jon had to say about her.

Jon wasn't too impressed with her, either. Said she's been in jail for 85 days and we Still don't know why.

Isn't dobbs smarter than falling for that judy Crap Crock?

Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 04:18 PM by wishlist
Rove and Libby and the other Bush officials lied in claiming to not be involved in the leak and failed to come clean. Lou Dobbs has his head in the sand to ignore the White House wrongdoers in this matter who are ultimately responsible for Judy's plight.

She obviously wanted to be the center of attention as the linchpin of the investigation and get a good scoop for NY Times plus money for her book deal, since she is not revealing anything significant yet per his and Barbara Walters interview.

Judy, Judy, Judy. Maybe you would have been happier at Abu Graihb or Gitmo. Maybe it would be less degrading for you to be stripped naked and dragged around on a leash. Or maybe you would have found it more commodious at the Superdome or Convention Center in NOLA after Katrina.

I just wish you would quit whining. At the very least you'll get a huge book deal out of this, maybe even a movie of the week.

I wish that she could get the opportunity to experience something that would truly live up to the name "degrading".

17. I'm continually amazed by the degree to which the MSM are willfully
not "getting" (or pretending not to get) the true import of the Judy Miller Goes to Jail story. It's one thing to protect a source who i serving the public interest by blowing the whistle on government malfeasance. It's another thing altogether to protect those who are ENGAGED IN government malfeasance. Why is that so hard for even veteran, lefty newshounds like NPR's Daniel Shore?

22. Yet Judy said perhaps her imprisonment was justified!
Couldn't believe my eyes, but here is her reply:

She admitted, however, that perhaps she will feel that the federal prosecutor, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, acted in good faith if he brings indictments this month. "Let's wait and see what Mr. Fitzgerald has. If he brings indictments, if he has a very serious case, then I might have to say that perhaps his zealousness with respect to this mission was justified," Miller said.

23. Cannot Understand Dobbs Sometimes
Lou Dobbs completely baffles me. Dobbs goes back and forth between being a lying, censoring rich Republican operative, to being absolutely brilliant and scathing on corporate crime and outsourcing, even being pro-union, extremely rare among Republicans these days. Then you get this bizarre, total incomprehension of what the Judith Miller case was about. She covered up a crime, protected criminals who were persecuting a critic of their lies by exposing active CIA agents to the threat of death! She would not help with an investigation to find the persecutors of government whistleblowers! The Bush neo-cons are targeting and destroying honest people who try to get the truth out, and she protects the criminals! Lou Dobbs completely baffles me.

44. Not pro-union.
He's anti free trade, which means his agenda dovetails with that of the labor movement on that particular issue.

But Dobbs doesn't seem to be motivated by a genuine concern for workers so much as by a nasty strain of xenophobia. His rants against immigration (legal or illegal)show where his true colors lie.

He's basically a Buchanan-style paleocon. Remember them?

where he turns a blind eye to the thousands of Mexicans who are coming into the Gulf to rebuild living in the worst of worst Migrant Worker Conditions (but, then many folks in the Gulf Coast are living in those same conditions, having lost everything.)

But, Dobbs feigned "outrage" at "over the border folks taking Americans jobs" kind of is "old hat" considering that those workers and the jobs are need to rebuild the infrastructure, oil refineries and rigs down there.

What a F**ing Hypocrit. He had it all sewed up until Katrina and Rita struck...now he's gotta get a New Line to support his payoff or his schtik...whichever it is.

He has moments of great honesty and then cancels it out in his next breath. It must be tough work being a "media whore." :-(

This guy's the John McCain of journalism; he's nothing but a good old-fashioned fiscal conservative monarchist, and I'm sure he thinks that if scratched, he'd bleed the blue blood of the better.

Nobody's above the law, and when someone is in the thick of propagandizing to lie us into war while abetting people as they "out" crucial operatives fighting to keep this country secure, that person should be called as a witness.

Fuck his indignation; he's an economic supremacist thug.

Buchannan is a Catholic conservative, though, and that's a different critter than WASPy old patricians like Dobbs. Much as the antipathy's been blurred in the past few years, this used to be a very anti-Catholic country, and those bigotries are still very much there.

Still, they're old-time fiscal conservative, racist elitists, so they're very much from the same cloth.
