Poll question: Which Repuke Sen. up for re-elect. do we have the best chance of beating? |
|
Hatch & Snowe are also up for re-election but I don't think we have a chance with either of those 2. So here are the other 12 Republican senators who are running again in 2006 (Not counting open seats like Frist or Lott).
Who do you think is the weakest link? I'm thinking Santorum because he's so unpopular in Pennsylvania and Casey is polling really strong.

1. Other than Santorum, I say Talent(less). |
|
He and Claire McCaskill were tied at 46% in a recent poll - bad news for an incumbent a year before the election.

2. Santorum, followed by DeWine |
|
I think there's a very good chance Hackett will win in Ohio.
I will party and party hard when Santorum goes down in Pennsylvania. :-)

6. I say Chaffee, because... |
|
I'm tired of these so-called "moderate" Republicans voting to be lead by such "un-moderate" leaders like Trent Lott, Dr. Fristenstein, Tom DeLay, Newt Gingrich... You're not a moderate, if you vote to have a House of Congress run by an extremist.

8. dunno about the other states but |

do know that in RI, Whitehouse is an ace and though Chafee's a total eccentric, he has been one of the cooler heads on the hill, (he voted virtually singularly against the Iraq War authorization in his party) I think the natives might just be getting restless.
Both face challenges in the primaries. Time will tell but I adore Whitehouse. But he's a lot like Kerry in that he is too intellectual and erudite for the general populous. Though he's also a totally commited civil servant.
His opponant in the primary is a guy from next door. Don't know how it'll play out.
It's a tough call 'cause Chafee has not been a total Bushbot. "Yocals" tend to protect their own and Chafee's family has been here for a very long time. Whereas Whitehouse's family was engaged in foreign service which is obscure to most Rhode Islanders. They generally go nowhere fast. Then there are the Deibold machines . . .So go figure.
