CNN is shameless in it's willingness to act as a psyops vehicle
Edited on Fri Oct-07-05 03:31 PM by Vinnie From Indy
CNN goes far beyond just acting as a megaphone for the carefully crafted stories created by BushCo. to control vast segments of the American population. Today, the network seems to have gone into overdrive with the "F E A R" message. Video clip after video clip and story after story are accompanied by visual reinforcements carrying the message - BE AFRAID.

CNN now has a "Security Watch" segment with an intro bumper that features a dizzying amount of visual images of deadly, dangerous and scary pictures flashing every half second and a voice over claiming that "Terrorism isn't just political......IT' PERSONAL" (This may not be exact, but it's very close.) CNN's security segment appears to want to take the FEAR message DIRECTLY to Aunt Mable in Possum Trot, Indiana. I guess the faithful needed a booster shot of fear.

I do not believe that these things are simply driven by greedy media execs giving the market what it wants. It is too coordinated and pervasive in huge segments of the media.

2. They probably have a contract to do it. When you are a capitalist
psyops and advertising simply become the grist of your broadcasting system.

Yesterday the NY subway, * claiming that they have stopped 10 terrorist plots since 2002, then I get home and see the bomb threat for the Washington Monument. All I thought was, yeah, the Shrub is tanking, Rove, DeLay, Frist, Ohio Repugs all embroiled in scandals.... what to do..... TERROR, TERROR don't forget about the TERROR.......

6. Why Were Government Propaganda Experts Working On News At CNN?
What makes the CNN story especially troubling is the fact that the network allowed the Army's covert propagandists to work in its headquarters, where they learned the ins and outs of CNN's operations. Even if the PSYOPS officers working in the newsroom did not influence news reporting, did the network allow the military to conduct an intelligence-gathering mission against CNN itself?

For instance, one PSYOPS officer worked in CNN's satellite division. According to Intelligence Newsletter, rear admiral Thomas Steffens, a psychological warfare expert in the Special Operations Command, recently told a PSYOPS conference that the military needed to find ways to "gain control" over commercial news satellites to help bring down an "informational cone of silence" over regions where special operations were taking place.

7. You ever wonder ...
... if Fox News exists for no other reason than to be the kooky extremist that forces all "sane" people over to the real propaganda on "trustworthy" CNN?
