To the House Dems who chanted "Shame"
Are you finished now?

You gonna go home and eat dinner, kiss the kids and pet the dog?

Chant "Shame" all you want, but unless you take this to the media YOU ARE USELESS.

Save your shame for yourself if you do nothing about this.

7. I certainly don't wish to come off sounding like like a republican,
but Pelosi is on a plane to California at this moment, they held a multiple speaker press conference just after school let out, everyone's scrambling to get back to their respective districts and kick the ball a little higher. What else would you like them to do, given that it's been only a little over two hours since the house adjourned?

9. What would I like them to do?
Break the cycle of "outrage to acceptance"

STICK WITH IT FOR A CHANGE.

Don't mind me, I got three hours of sleep last night due to jack hammers in front of my building giving me a wakeup call this morning.

But good for Pelosi, "IF" she sticks with it.

22. I get so tired of this type of post.
The Dems don't have much fire power because we are in the minority in the house the senate and don't have the WH or the courts. Yet, some on DU still expect them to win a round without any ammunition.

My suggestion on how to change this - give them some help instead of just complaining. If you live in a blue congressional district move to a red one and get busy. If you live in a red district already you are part of the problem - you haven't done enough either.

28. Nah...
fuck that, the Dems who stood today get a bg fat cookie of their choice.

Chanting "shame" like that was an act of solidarity with N.O. in my eyes. As long as they cotinue to become more and more emboldened because nothing else is going to save us... nothing.

The Dems need to nurture that anger they had today. They'll rally the base fairly quickly if they keep it up.

31. More power to any and all who can enjoy the moment
Give them that cookie, they deserve it - but let's crack that whip too.

One nifty little moment doesn't change the fact that they haven't fought hard enough the last few years. After everything we've been through I'm well past the point where I can appreciate spurts of fleeting bravado anymore. Good for those who can. These aren't normal times. They need to do more and I'll continue to say so..... even when they're doing so.

I haven't been able to enjoy those little House outbursts since they chanted for Livingston to resign. Ironically, it was right after that (impeachment) that the chain reaction began which led us to where we are today.

35. I hear ya but all the same in Congress there have been a lot of Dems
putting it up. Granted most are in the CBC (who I just think is our best bet for really energizing the apathy vote), but there are others both there and some few in the Senate as well.

I think part of the problem is perception for our side. The toughest thing Dems need to learn is to put up a united front on certain issues and if you don't than you will probably start being eyeballed as a bit of a DINO. Even without media coverage it excites the base because so many of us get our news first or secondhand from online sources now.

Many have fought hard over the years and have been in many regards left out in the cold maintaining the traditional middle to the left while others seemingly drifted further right claiming the middle all along. Basically my view is as the base gets more excited and united and most importantly shows their appreciation collectively the new middle Dems will start moving back toward the traditionally middle. If they don't see the wind has indeed shifted politically they'll be left out in the cold instead, because neither party wants to really support milquetoast (sp?) fence sitters these days. Maybe when things return to a little less threatening state of affairs for those on what is considered by the new middle to be the fringe left we can get back to more civilized discourse and debate.

Obviously the ones in the new middle aren't the ones under serious assault as far as being demonized by the most dangerous and extreme elements in the country.

I shall reward all courageous behavior with kudos in the hope that they do it again. I learned that from Boxer. She heard us begging for a Senator to stand... she did it. We sent her flowers and she continues to stand up for us by standing against bushco consistanly. Granted she has always been a fighter but I think that gesture was pretty widely seen by her colleagues as something that they wish they could elicit from their own voters.

Sorry for the ramble. Did that make any sense?

39. Yeah
Maybe I'm in the minority but I feel that the 2004 election has done irreparable harm to our country. In the eyes of the world it was an endorsement of every evil of the entire first term. I think the only way we will survive that is if Bush is removed before he finishes his second term. And yeah I know how unlikely that is. That is why I'm so jaded.

So now I'm hoping that they don't slip through these indictments. Because if Bush walks out of the White House in January 2009, I don't think it will matter that a Democrat would be walking in. Our country will be finished. Not much optimism here.

But look at that, I'm holding out hope for indictments.

I have been on Nancy Pelosi's butt for two years. She's finally baring her tiny little teeth and growling some.

Good for our side! We're gonna win back the House, if we get some good House candidates and stop worrying about the 2008 presidential.
