Bush's approval has dropped to under 40%. Down to 37% and falling.

Conservatives who remained loyal simply for the Court are leaving. A 3% fall in popularity since Miers. It could end up under 35% if this keeps up.
These are the lowest numbers ever for Bush.
The initial number for Miers were also the LOWEST of anyone Bush has nominated for the Supreme Court (aka much lower than Roberts).
