Intelligent Design Poll needs help. |
|
It is changing quickly. The designers had it sixty to thirty percent. I just re checked and it's fifty fifty 'should intelligent design be taught in science classes or not... It's Sunday folks. Boise's best will be voting for God. Please help. Our schools are pathetic enough. http://www.idahostatesman.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage

3. About 73 percent yes... |

I think even most believers think that should be left out of the classroom. Even in scary Idaho.

5. The question is worded differently than what is in your OP. |
|
It says: 'Should universities teach only evolution, not intelligent design, in science classes?'

8. I had a chance this past Friday |

to listen to Science Friday on NPR. There was a scientist/researcher of monkeys (chimps and dobonos?) who was asked this question of ID. He suggested that it be taught because then it would be seen, through the light of science, how stupid ID is.

9. Intelligent Design Poll needs help |
|
The number of votes is now 633 (9:43 a.m. Sunday 10/9) and it was about 66% NO to 34% YES....we're getting there. When I was in high school, way back in the dark ages, in our first year English classes, presuming you could exam out, or your grades in English were good enough to get out of "bonehead English", we studied Greek and Roman mythology AND the Old and the New Testament (in simple English, forget all the "begats" etc. This was so we would not be totally out of it in our studies of literature, given the enormous number of biblical references, etc. A study of comparative religion would be just dandy...but not until 9th grade or so when the kiddies can handle it. We should not indoctrinate children into ANY religion, Christianity with the bible, Islam with the Koran, or the Jewish version of the way it should be, at least not in our public schools. Parents get their opportunity to turn their children in a direction of their choice, from birth up until they are out in the big,bad world, and exposed to other thoughts and ideas and religious philosophies. I think a study of comparative religion is essential, and it must include Islam as well as the history of religion from the beginnings of recorded time. It is fascinating and very informative, and I'm still learning !!
