The Republicans have filed for legal separation from George W Bush
With his favorable polls in freefall, Republicans up for re-election next year are becoming very concerned about their relationship with George W Bush. The Miers nomination was akin to an adulterous affair. They do not know if they can trust him again.

So, they are making a legal separation. He has become a possible and probable liability to them in next years election. The time has come to think about moving out. It is not easy because they really love him. But they love themselves more.

1. I like watching them squirm.....
They have rubber stamped everything he has sent them. Let them writhe in agony attempting to get away from him. I have lots and lots of popcorn.

2. We need a few more poll slipping moments

before they are ready to get rid of the NeoCons.

IMO, the Neo Cons are NOT Christians. They are just greedy scum that wants to take over the world.

Regular corporate rethugs and born agains are NOT like Bush. I think they are beginning to see the difference.

16. Neo Cons like torture
They like inciting the Muslims, they probably set gasoline soaked cats on fire as kids to amuse themselves, and cheated ruthlessly in college and do character assassination in their day to day relationships with others and just consider it business as usual and merely the normal human process of getting ahead.

They don't know what sound ethical behavior is, they don't understand the Golden Rule, and they live and die based on how well they work the wedge issues to use fear and intimidation.

One of them on Liberty Post openly acknowledges he is a fascist and has called for the Balkanization of this country because, "Americans need a divorce from each other."

I listen to the spouting of the worst of these idiots and get a clear picture of what the more cunning of these people are thinking without their layers of rhetorical plausible denial.

What they are actually thinking. That's what alarms me the most about these dangerous people.

17. the neo-cons are totally separate from shrub's
fundie base. they are the imperialists and i am pretty sure they are fed up with shrub's handling of iraq, among other things (see bill crystal). their ranks include rumsfeld, wolfowitz and feith and are mostly jewish and very pro-israel.

5. What does Bush care? He has gotten everything that he wants.
He and his friends are rich, and he has gotten away with murder. His life will be a good one when he retires in luxury. I hope that there is an afterlife, becasue that is the only place he will pay for what he has done. Not in this one.

12. Don't forget--with the new laws-he only gets secret service
protection for 10 years after office. He has made an awful lot of enemies. I bet he tries to get that changed before he leaves, if he is smart enough to think about it.

He will change as many laws as he wants to ensure his luxury, safety and comfort, sparing no taxpayer expense. Do not doubt it for a moment.

7. Once a few new spin machines are installed and Georgie is fixed
they will all be back, on hands and knees, begging for forgiveness from BushCo. They always do. Pukes want to milk the system for all it is worth, and if that means a temporary distancing from Idiot Double Plus, they will do it. Hell, most of them would sell their mothers on the black market if they thought they could cash in enough. Juan, Leslie, Cokespoon, Katie, Matt, Bret and the rest of the cabal will fix this for Shrubbie.

10. The head of the '04 Bush-Cheney Maine campaign was running...
Peter Cianchette was candidate for Governor since announcing in July. Two weeks ago he withdrew from the race. He stated it was to (get this GOP meme) spend more time with his family. :eyes: His association with the Bush-Cheney campaign had already become an issue for him. Now I don't know if this played any part in his decision but it did take away a great opportunity for the Dems to paint the GOP candidate with the Bush Brush.

Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 04:01 PM by Kurovski
as a whole were responsible for the mess we face now.

Don't let them get away with suddenly washing their hands of Bush after massaging him from head to toe for five years.

The entire party went lockstep, absolute LOCKSTEP on every idiotic, blatantly damaging march the WH led.

Edit to add: the only real legal seperation will be impeachment. That is when I will believe the R's wish to seperate the party from Bush's policies and actions. That is the only way the party will win back any respect.

They will try to distance themselves in '06, but it won't work. They branded bush as THE FACE of the republican party. Ha Ha!
