Dennis MORRIS on FOX pumping his book Condi vs Hillary, sez Condi
Edited on Tue Oct-11-05 06:45 AM by opihimoimoi
will win.

He laid out his rationale and sounded plausible....but I didn't buy it. I think the American People are tired of BS and will see through the attempt.

EDIT: for correction to Morris Name

1. Isn't Dennis Miller going to be in the next season of The Surreal Life?
Dennis Miller is a self-serving, self-important sell-out douche-bag.

Then again, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

2. Poor Dennis
One of the last to flip to the GOP side. He may have had two good years attacking the Left, but now that the GOP is going to go down, what future does he have left since no one on the Left will believe him again.

9. I'd say it's bad strategy on their part.
The racist faction of the GOP won't go for her and most African-Americans won't go with her despite her ethnicity. They'll remember her association with Captain Shithead, who they already hate anyway.

Edited on Tue Oct-11-05 12:16 PM by opihimoimoi
If the Election turns into a Cat Fight...My guess the ratio would be around 80-20...not enough to offset the Bubba Factor....many of whom would not vote or better yet...vote Clinton.

It may well be the Morris Book is a trial Baloon....The Pubs know their image is shot the hell to pieces and they be looking for a way out... if they manage to pull it off....and Condi wins...the next Aircraft Carrier, as opposed to an Oil Tanker, would be named CONDILEZZZZZA.

15. Sorry, but it ain't gonna happen...
She has two things going against her as far as the rethuglican rank and filers are concerned, she's black, and she's a woman...There is absolutely no way in hell that bubba is going to vote for a Black, Female President. Not a friggin' chance.

Old prejudices die hard, and the good ole boys would rather have Bill Clinton back in office, before they give to a "*******-*******"...

Plus, she'll be in jail... ;-)

The way Morris figured..roughly half of the Black vote would be hers. and the Pubs would lose about 5% due to Bubba Factor. A net gain of about 5 million votes. Go figure...

I'm with you...it ain't gonna happen....but then, who knows...

18. Condi vs. Hillary would be a GOP dream. Condi would win, landslide
Consider:

Republicans have been smearing the Clintons (especially Hillary) for years. Because of these smears, she is a polarizing figure.

Republicans don't have to worry about the bigots and racists. They vote Republican anyway, and will happily vote for Condi. After all, (as I have heard a conservative say), "She's too smart to be black" :puke:

Republicans would get moderate women and minorities to vote for Condi. They would sucker them in to believing that they embrace some sort of "big tent" philosophy. Remember the convention in 2004? The Republicans ran as though they were a party made up of all races, and with lies about how open-minded they are. Of course, its all bullshit, but people will fall for it.

All in all, the public appears to have shifted a tiny bit toward Sanity and Reason with re to her smartness and the Pub party she works under...

I feel the Bubba factor will make too many stay home...allowing the election to Hillary.

23. There are many problems with that.
1. Condi is an unappealing person and would be a worse candidate

2. Condi would never get the Republican nomination because of her stance on abortion

3. Condi is too closely tied to a very unpopular president and would never be able to shake off her responsibility for the policy blunders

4. Hillary is a much more experienced politician and would likely chew Condi to bits in a debate

5. Republicans have a racist and sexist voting bloc that would have a hard time stomaching a vote for a black woman

24. We really don't want this match-up
I think Rice will do well in debates vs Hillary.

We will lose a significant share of our most reliable constituency: the black vote. How many would pass at the opportunity to elect a black President?

This is dangerous. I hope she doesn't run.

I think more blacks would vote for Hillary, myself.

Give the black voter more credit than just voting based on skin color. Most blacks can see through Condi and they don't like her.

45. Most would vote for Hillary, yes
but a significant amount would vote for Condi and we usually get 90%.

I could see at least 20% responding to a broad appeal to elect the first black president.

You know the other side would shamelessly make that a major campaign issue.

30. Condi will never get the nomination - she is being used by the GOP
She is being floated out there so the GOP can say, "hey look, Condi is one of our frontrunners right now, we don't really hate black people!! How can a party that hates blacks have a black woman as a top candidate for president???"

33. She WILL be the nominee if Hillary runs.
You can count on it.

If it's between Condi and Hillary, do you REALLY think the Republicans are going to stay home and sit this one out?

Her gender and race figure not one whit in this case.

She is a neocon puppet, and that's a requirement for anybody running for president on the Republican ticket.

34. yes, they would sit it out
a lot of those angry white males would never go for an uppity black woman who is also single. And, if she ran for president, she would be considered upppity.

Giuliani is going to be the nominee in 2008 and we'll get "terror terror terror" as the theme again. Rudy G has already got the stamp of approval from the Religious Reich.

44. He's got the Pat Robertson stamp of approval
Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson raised eyebrows on Sunday when he heaped praise on former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, saying he'd make "a good president" despite his liberal positions on gay rights and abortion.

Asked if Giuliani would be an acceptable 2008 presidential candidate to Christian conservatives, Robertson told ABC's "This Week:" "He did a super job running the city of New York and I think he'd make a good president."
