Brian Williams' hilarious "double entendre" on NBC Nightly News tonight:
I am still RFLMAO. Brian said, and I quote, "Bu$h spent last night in New Orleans and today the pumping stopped." Who was he pumping?! Who was pumping him?! Condi? Harriett? Pickles? Condi/Pickles? Harriett/Condi? Gannon/Rove? A seventh grader could have written a better sentence. Bwaa haaa haaa haaaa!

2. Did he blush
or look at all flustered after he said that? LOL. Pretty funny.

6. Nope. Williams read it straight-faced.
It was hilarious (because it was so fucked up). It obviously referred to the pumping of water from NOLA and the beta-minus morans watching NBC probably connected to the water issue, and not to the fantasies that the egregious sentence structure allowed. Know what I mean, Vern?

8. I have to say
I adore that picture of Ernest. I loved Jim Varney, he gave my children a lot of hours of fun. He died WAY too young.

Isn't it funny when they just go on like they have no idea what they just said? Wait....they probably don't have a clue! It is frightening that their product means so little to them.

9. Jim Varney, RIP
I always remind people to remember what he was: a damned good, and versatile actor. Among other things. Jim Varney was a trip. Vern knows!

10. The first time I ever saw him
was I think on commercials in Houston. I am not certain but I think that was where I saw him. Yes, he was good and from the few things I have read about him he was a good human being as well. Can't beat that.

11. Ha! Me too! Houston.
Early 80s. Varney stuff was big on TV in Houston then. My wife and I lived in the center of Montrose then (actually, on Montrose Blvd - 1301). What a great place! Queers, straights, bi-s, bikers, bankers, 90% liberals, artists, writers, etc). I hung around the Brazos Bookstore back then. Know what I mean, Vern?

12. Sadly
I can't think of a single Ernest-esque response. Both of my brothers lived in Houston and I loved going to visit them there.

BTW, how are things in the Great Smoky Mountains? I had the most fun in my young life at Brevard Music Camp. Darned fine camp, long way from home, learned a lot about music and life there.

14. I'm about 15 miles from Brevard city center!
I am in the southwestern wilds of Transylvania County. What is your instrument MuseRider? I am an oboist and bass violinist. I still have a Loree oboe here in the mountains. The Vade Mecum sounds great against the gorges.

It is beautiful country. I have longed to get back there but sadly I never have, it has been 30+ years. I don't know if I have any memory that quite compares to that 9 weeks there. Ever go to Sliding Rock? Somehow I doubt they still let you go careening down the rock into the river but it was a real blast.

Edit I forgot to add. I'll bet that oboe sounds wonderful out there. What a blast to be able to play in the mountains there.
