'The Note' On Bush's "Golden Fluffy Cloud"

"The pair of condundra (Plame and Miers) may well determine whether Bush continues to live under the golden fluffy cloud that has followed him all his political career, or whether his luck has finally run out." http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/TheNote/story?id=156238

Just one little question to our friends at The Note: Who do you think has been doing all the Bush "fluffing" during his stellar political career? In your infinite snarky wisdom, you neglect to mention that Bush's "golden fluffy cloud" is merely the aura of invincibility created by a half-decade of Pre$$titution.

Without it, he would have long ago been booted out of office for lying America into war, for presiding over the worst attack ever on American soil, and for exploiting a national tragedy for political gain. It's only the weight of reality, of Iraq, of Plamegate, of Katrina, of all the many screw-ups and lies and deceptions finally tearing through the wall of protection built by the supplicant media, a wall described by the Note in dainty terms like "golden fluffy cloud."

1. I despise The Note
...and I stopped reading it a few years ago.

IMO, it is a big part of the reason the Washington Press Corps has been toothless in the face of tyranny in the WH.

I spit on them.

4. Dictionary.com
Does not have the word listed! Maybe they meant conundrum, which is a riddle or a difficult problem?!

Eureka!

Somehow, it still doesn't fit the context. Oh well. People make malapropisms.
