It looks to me as if Sy Hersh tacked Mr. Perle to the wall so hard that he's having a little trouble teasing a hand free. Hersh's allegation that Perle stood to profit from the advice he was providing DoD appears to have left Perle with a distinct choice: go under the radar and keep raking it in, or duke it out with the patron saint of investigative journalism.

Looks like he took the money. But Perle got his licks in. He called Hersh a terrorist.

But now that we mention it, perhaps it's time to take a look at how Mr. Perle's portfolio is doing, especially with his eight-day-a-year employer Trireme....

Or perhaps another promising lead would be the London Telegraph, which conveniently reported on January 28, 2001 that Iraq had two functional nuclear weapons. Mr. Perle has a large interest in Hollinger International, parent company of the Telegraph, all the larger for his propensity to divert Hollinger's shareholder profits to himself.
