Incidents Olbermann missed -- there are more

These are not related to terror warnings, but are definitely instances where Karl Rove diverted the news just when George was about to be hit hard. Some of these require a definite MIHOP mindset, and I'm sure that some DUers will not believe it possible for someone in the WH to be part of it. But there it is. A pattern worth studying.

1. November 12, 2001. Just as the media's study group NORC is about to release the news that Al Gore did, in fact, win the 2000 election, an airliner bound for the Dominican Republic goes down in Queens under suspicious circumstances. Would Bushco take down an airliner? There's precedent in the Bush family. Just go study the connections of Father Bush.

2. Friday before the election 2000. Just as Senators Inouye, Kerrey, and Cleland are holding a press conference to challenge George W. Bush to explain his absence from the Texas Air National Guard during wartime, FOX news breaks the story that Bush had been arrested in a DUI decades earlier. The AWOL story is obliterated.

Help me out here -- let's find more of these.

I also have to wonder about the premature death of liberal columnist Lars-Erik Nelson. Lars-Erik died shortly after the disputed presidential election of 2000. His last column was on that election and the Florida dispute.

8. These are different kinds of "terror", aimed at Bush enemies.

The ones Olberman is talking about are general alerts designed to crowd the airwaves to keep news the WH doesnot like from getting to the public.

The "terror" you are talking about is the stuff Rove and Co. do to intimidate journalists and politicians and other countries so that they will bow to the will of the Bush administration. I call this the Rove/Rasputin complex. This is why Rove tries so hard to come off as an unscrupulous guy who is willing to break the law and do dirty tricks. It really is better for Olberman not to talk about this on national TV, because it plays into Rove's hand for this to get any kind of national coverage. People who know about it should acknowledge it privately, in public they should discuss the fact that Rove attempts to do this, but they should act unafraid--the way that Olberman does.

Sure the first anniversary of 9/11 was the next day but why raise it so suddenly the day before rather than announcing well in advance that the terror alert level was going to be raised for the anniversary of 9/11?
