1. What about the 2004 platform from the Convention?
No links, but it shouldn't be hard to find.

2. I am going to use that but remember when Reid said "hey
we HAVE an energy bill!" And then someone posted it. I mean like that.

(EDIT) Oops...I forgot they're not numbered like that. Here's #44.

---

Please NOT "Contract for America!" (4.00 / 5)

I love the points in it. We need this so much (as long as we have candidates to promote them). But my god, if "Contract With America" doesn't conjur up Newtonian imagery for you, you've got a very short memory. The right-wing will not only be able to make the same linguistic jokes WE did, but it also will open us up to charges of ripping them off. Of course, it is no such thing, but since when has telling the truth ever been a concern to them?

I don't know what we should call it yet, but something along the lines of "Rebuilding" or "Priorities for a Strong America," something POSITIVE. "Contract" was perfect for the GOP, it sounds so mob-like. We need to a positive moniker, not a re-hashed one. This is such a fine document, it would be a shame to give anyone a reason to dismiss it before they get past the title.

4. Well, which ones do you want?
The DNC, of which Dean is chairman, is getting their agenda together now....and the fall meeting which was postponed because of Katrina will be held in Phoenix in December.

Hillary is in charge of the DLC's agenda called the American Dream Initiative. I gather the two are separate...will they be combined, I have no clue.

So I guess we can wait or find out what Hillary is putting together. And wait until December for the DNC plans.

The platform is set during the presidential race years, I thought. So I guess Dean is calling it an agenda.

Here is the latest on the DNC agenda, front page DNC.

http://www.democrats.org/agenda.html

I see there is nothing there about women's rights. I believe Dr. Dean said the Democrats are the party of choice, and that it would not be considered an issue.

7. Well, I put a link for you. Pretty detailed.
Also, if you do a search on dean, dnc, fournier you will see Ron F.'s snide but thorough article about his interview with Howard Dean this last week.

It lays out a pretty broad strategy. Why must you have it all now when they don't have it all yet? Not being difficult, just wondering.

He is trying to get all the state chairs to compile the info from the polls, then put it together as a plan nationwide. Takes time.

I also saw that he has now been to 40 states, but they are keeping some things on rebuilding close to the vest right now.

In fact, here is the article. Be sure you read each link off the agenda page first. As I said the platform was set last year, led by the nominee I think. Do a search on DNC, platform, 2004.
