Dean and Franken in Minnesota Saturday.
Dean to Address American Indian Political Organizers at INDN's List Campaign Camp

"Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean will give the keynote address at the inaugural INDN's List Campaign Camp at the Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minn., on Saturday, Oct. 15. He will speak to more than 100 future candidates and campaign staff representing 50 tribal nations from all across America who have gathered for four days of campaign training.

Dean's participation in the INDN's List Campaign Camp is part of the DNC's ongoing commitment to encouraging greater Native American participation in the political process, and reaching out to voters in all fifty states."

Event aims to launch Indian political candidates

"Kayln Free, a Choctaw from Tulsa, Okla., made an unsuccessful bid for Congress in 2004. Her experience taught her that Indian candidates needed an organization to help recruit, train and fund candidates.

INDN List is patterned after EMILY's LIST, a group created to endorse female political candidates.

Free said she chose to have the event in Minnesota because tribal leaders here are progressive.

"Your tribes here in Minnesota get it," she said. "You've already proven that you can turn out votes. New we need to get you some candidates."

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean and comedian Al Franken will headline the event on Saturday."

Governor Dean is in Chicago on Friday.

3. Here's their website. There might be something there later.
I think if I remember correctly this group was just formed in February. Or maybe Kalyn Free just became leader then, not sure.
