Generation DFA and Foo Fighters...blog post and picture.
http://www.blogforamerica.com/archives/007024.html

"The Foo Fighters gave a powerful concert on Monday, October 3, 2005 at Rosemont's Allstate Arena to the north of Chicago, Illinois. Along with the opening act, Weezer, the art activists played civic host to members of our grassroots organization. One such frequent visitor to DFA is Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Schiflett; the musician will have been instrumental in bringing the populist education and outreach project to millions of music fans across the country in the months to come.

Well, you know," said Shiflett, I think DFA's a perfect example, at least for me, of how to connect what's going on locally. I don't know about for most people, but I know that for me, I tend to overlook what's happening in my own back yard and just kinds focus on national issues, or international issues."

2. Also Tampa Gen DFAers and Foo Fighters there.

Foo Fighters & DFA in Tampa
Elliott McCurry was an intern for the IT Department at DFA headquarters this past summer.

"If you read the blog on Wednesday, you may have read about the first DFA booth at the Foo Fighters/Weezer concert in Miami this Saturday. The next day, University of Florida Generation DFA (along with a couple like-minded volunteers) attended the next concert on the tour in Tampa. For the most part, I'd say we had a similar experience. The Venue in Tampa allowed us set up the tent indoors, which was much appreciated considering the Florida weather."

"We were able to take turns watching the show, and like the first group, we received a lot of positive feedback from the people in the crowd who stopped by the tent. With nearly 20,000 people in attendance, the support we obtained was a pretty compelling statement, especially regarding the surge of national distaste for the Bush administration."

3. Miami Gen DFA and Foo Fighters team up.

DFA and Foo Fighters Join Forces
Democracy for America has teamed up with Campus Progress to encourage youth political action on the Foo Fighters tour this fall. Charles Chamberlain, President of DFA Miami-Dade, attended the Foo Fighters/Weezer show in Miami.

"Thank you DFA! What a great experience! Jody, Franco, and I joined Carol, Brad, Unjulie, and Jack, (from Campus Progress) at the DFA action table a few hours before the doors opened. We got these cool all access stickers from Gus the tour manager and were told the rules: Don't hand anything out to people on the way in and don't get in arguments with people over politics. We said, "No problem."

The venue wouldn't let the Foo Fighters staff set up our special tent or banners inside the arena like had been planned, but we made do with a well placed table right by the entrance. When they opened the doors we had lots of traffic and many people stopped to see what was going on. Some people wondered what we were doing there when the election isn't for "a couple of years". We schooled them in how there is more to voting than just Presidential elections."
