President Carter's son considering political campaign
----------------
(10/16/05 - ELKO, NV) - One of the sons of former President Jimmy Carter may throw his hat into the political ring.
----------------
Jack Carter is considering a US Senate run in Nevada. He says he'll make a formal announcement, one way or the other, in a month.

Carter admits that he was discharged from the Navy 35 years ago for smoking marijuana. However, he says it wasn't a drug bust. Carter says military officials interviewed people and asked questions about drug use. He says when they asked him if he'd used drugs, he told them that he did.

As far as current events are concerned, Carter says President Bush is "irresponsible" for not considering raising taxes or cutting other expenses within the federal government to pay for the Hurricane Katrina recovery effort.

As for his father, Carter says the former president has told him that he thinks he'd be a good senator.

2. Hmmm...
He's related to a former one term President who's widely viewed as a failure.

He served in the military, but not in combat, and there are questions about his service.

Hmmm.... does he have a series of failed businesses? Is his last name Bush? Is he a Republican?

No? I guess he can't be President, then.
