Novak's second source...Colin?
Edited on Sun Oct-16-05 06:02 PM by YEM
I recall that Novack said his second source was "no partison." Is Colin more involved in this mess?

1. I still have problems believing that Powell would be that stupid....
as much as his sychophancy has stripped away any respect for him, I still believe he has more brains than the majority of Repugs.....

I strongly believe that Bush-Cheney are in this up to their eyeballs... Bolton too. I desperately hope they all go down..

3. Hmmm...hmmm...hmmm...
clearing throat...Oh, did we forget about Colin's stint at the U.N. to a mass audience, where in his guts he knew that he was lying?

10. Oh come on... the patrionizing isn't required....
If you would take 1/2 a second to actually read my post, I started out by saying "as much as his sychophancy has stripped away any respect for him..."

Saying I still view him as having enough sense not to get himself locked up, is only a relative view of his intelligence--not a quantitative view.

No one here is defending Colin Powell's lies at the UN, nor his penchance for being a good soldier. I also remember his role in covering up Mai Lai for the military. But, knowing where to draw the line to keep his own butt out of the sling doesn't necessarily signal high intellect--just a relative balance between common sense and arrogance missing in most of the WH bullies.

6. If Powell is so smart, how could he read that pablum to the entire world?
Powell is an incompetant idiot, just like his former boss.

He has always been willing to do anything to kiss up. There is no evidence, going back to My Lai, that he has never had a single moral scruple in his life.

Any man who could demand that the UN cover over the reproduction of Guernica behind the podium is an unconcionable flake and a fraud.

11. Apples and oranges. Sychophancy is not a measure of
intelligence (nor lack thereof)... See my earlier post. I'm not defending Powell. If you read my post you would see that.

2. I don't think so
If Colin played any role, it was in telling the truth as to what happened on the plane ride when this top secret info was shared. I think he understood that revealing her name could cost lives and while I have lost some respect for him, I don't think he would do that.

4. Well, I think it was George Tennett. Why else would he suddenly

resign and say he wanted to spend time with his son who was to be in his last year of high school? Did he figure he would be nailed and have to do time so he had better do it while he could? I know, I know, he got flack for telling Bush, WMD were a slam dunk and he should have vetted his speech before * gave it. Something is just rotten in Denmark with this story. I saw Tennett give his little speech and he certainly sounded like he was guilty of something.

5. hell no
His sources were Rove and Libby. Of course Novakula would not think either guy is a partisan gunslinger since he is a Bushbot.

13. Bolton is the second source
Edited on Mon Oct-17-05 12:07 PM by maine_raptor
He was in the State Dept and was working on WMD issues. Lots of chances to work with CIA folks there.
