From Salon: Joe Wilson may sue Bush, Cheney, others.
Sorry if this is a dupe:

TALK LEFT

Bloomberg News reports that Joseph Wilson may sue Bush, Cheney and others in the Administration: If they do so, the current state of the law makes it likely that the suit will be allowed to proceed -- and Bush and Cheney will face questioning under oath -- while they are in office. The reason for that is a unanimous 1997 U.S. Supreme Court decision ruling that Paula Jones' sexual harassment suit against then-President Bill Clinton could go forward immediately, a decision that was hailed by conservatives at the time. What's good for the goose....

6. Payback's a bitch, indeed (a bitch named Paula)
Paula Jones: Her case, Jones v. Clinton, established that a
private citizen has the right to sue a sitting president.
Therefore - we could line up 50 women and have them all accuse
Bush of ..the same thing. And he would have to 'take time out from
being President of the U.S.and deal with it."

Paula Paid:.. They allege that the Rutherford Institute paid $200,000 or more for Jones' legal fees. Clinton people asked who
the contributors to Rutherford Institute were and were denied.

Troopers in Paula Jones case accused of being paid....?

Reporter to Paula Jones: Is posing nude in Penthouse your way
to "get your reputation back?"

7. Here are two torts they might have committed:
Interference with Contractual Relations

The tort of interference with contractual relations permits a plaintiff to recover damages based upon a claim that a defendant interfered with the plaintiff's contractual relations. The elements of an intentional interference with contractual relations claim are (1) a valid contract between plaintiff and a third party; (2) defendant's knowledge of this contract; (3) defendant's intentional acts designed to induce a breach or disruption of the contractual relationship; (4) actual breach or disruption of the contractual relationship; and (5) resulting damage.

To be considered tortious, a defendant's actions must substantially exceed fair competition and free expression, such as persuading a bank not to lend a competitor any more money.

Interference with Prospective Business Advantage

The tort of interference with prospective business advantage protects economic interests that have not yet been formalized into contract. The elements of that tort are (1) an economic relationship between the plaintiff and some third person containing the probability of future economic benefit to the plaintiff, (2) defendant's knowledge of the existence of the relationship, (3) defendant's intentional acts designed to disrupt the relationship, (4) actual disruption of the relationship, and (5) damages to the plaintiff proximately caused by the acts of the defendant.

8. They sure picked the wrong guy to mess with.
Joe Wilson has been relentless. Ever since this incredibly stupid move by Rove or whoever it was, Joe Wilson has waged a one-man war against these thugs. He's made countless appearances on radio shows, given interviews, even showed up at the local high school cafeteria for a question-and-answer session.

Wilson is a good speaker. He's eloquent - hammers away at these right-wing cronies. That's the problem with these stupid Bush people: they got lazy and thought they were invincible.

Hell hath no fury like a husband scorned.

13. Sorry, I'll believe it when I see it.
I doubt it'll happen.

Not only that, but the link provided by Talk Left didn't have the story in it. They need to correct it.

15. What they will say is "We learned from the Clinton episode that the civil
suit actually took up too much of the President's time and we don't want to tie this pResident's hands in a time of war".
