Could Paul Hackett run for Sherrod Brown's seat ? |
|
Or does he live in a different district? I like Sherrod Brown. He has been a progressive Democrat as far as I can tell. I refuse to get into a battle over who might make the better Senator. However, I would not wish to see either side split the Party and lose both seats, when the opportunity is there to pick up two seats. Let the two men work out a compromise on this.
However, the Senate is different from the House. Maybe the House would be the best place for Hackett to start? Not trying to be controversial but only making a point.

3. Sound like a winner to me |

Nick Lampson is running against Tom DeLay. He is one of Delay's TRMPAC victims, and a great Democrat, so he has moved into Tom's district in order to run. And his timing might be right. Wouldn't that be sweet revenge?

6. I don't live in Ohio but.... the 2006 elections are a year away |
|
so perhaps if he could move now and will start quietly walking the district, familiarize himself with the its uniqueness, it would not look like carpetbagging next year.
Depends on the district, of course. In Orange County, California, one just rented a townhouse for a month and got elected. Twice. The party supported him in a heavily Republican party.
I was really impressed with him when first saw him on Bill Maher, of all places, and the country really needs him in Washington.

7. He could run from outside of the district |
|
The 14th-OH had a primary candidate who did not even move to the district, he lived in a town right outside of the district. The 13th district is about 200 miles from Paul Hackett's home town though.
