Pennsylvania DUer's, how strong is Bob Casey (as a candidate)? |
|
Charlie Cook on Franken claims that Santorum is the better campaigner. Is this true or is Cook being an apologist for the right?

1. He hasn't come out and said much at all - I'm a Pennacchio |
|
supporter so I may not be the one to ask. But every time Man-on-Dog has made a gaffe (which is every time he opens his pie hole recently) Pennacchio has come out with strong denunciations while the Casey camp says next to nothing.
He's flown under the radar since the Dem leadership gave him the nod.

2. Casey is well known and well liked across the State. |
|
Santorum might have been a decent campaigner in the past, but he's self destructing, and has been for a while now. I didn't hear Frankin today, but my guess, from your description of Cook is that he's an apologist.

5. Casey is letting Santorum run himself into the ground-- |
|
which has proven to be a great strategy.

I don't have enough posts to start a thread so I thought I'd include this in this post.
First of all, Casey has been extremely quiet and considering his strong poll numbers, there's no reason to say much at this point. I think he'll be fine as a campaigner.
On Gerlach----I just got a "survey" in the mail from him.
Question 3:
If you oppose drilling in ANWR, would you still want Members of Congress to vote against the reconciliation bill if that same vote meant voting against other provisions in the bill that would increase funding for such programs as student-aid for higher education, cancer and other types of medical research and veterans health care?
I guess this is how they will slip the ANWR drilling through. It's a shame that it has to be tied to things like veterans health care but you know what happens to the Dems who oppose the bill:
"They oppose veterans health care." That'll be the war cry. "They voted against the vets", etc.
The whole thing turns my stomach.
