it was in the NYTimes several months ago. A teenager threw a frozen turkey out the window of a car, and it hit a woman in the face, breaking EVERY bone in her face. Yet she went to the trial and pleaded for mercy for the kid, who was facing several years in prison. She didn't want his life to be ruined. He got six months, I think.
Really, even though it sounds funny, it really wasn't. And what the victim did was really something, I think.
