Could the Cheney rumors be followed by Bush rumors?
If Fitz has his sights on Cheney (and it has long appeared he does, today's headlines notwithstanding) how far out of sight could idiot son possibly be? Who in their right mind thinks that Cheney would be doing all this and littlegeorge was out of the loop? Such a concept simply doesn't compute in my mind.

If Cheney's done anything, then so has idiot son. There's no way I can buy his being uninvolved.

Can you?

1. We won't know until ABC broadcasts the "rehearsal" tape
before the next press conference. :)

2. I've got my fingers
and toes crossed.

I don't think Bush can claim he wasn't in the loop and get away with it.

3. I can. He never does ANYTHING. He cuts brush.
That's why they like him: doesn't know anything, doesn't care to know.

I don't think he's ever had an original idea. All this stuff comes from Cheney.

Of course, I'm sure he went along with it, and should take responsibility.

5. I agree. In fact, this points to the truth about this pResidency ...
Chimpy's out of the loop. He's a puppet, a figurehead, a complete incompetent fronting for a cabal in which Cheney holds real power.

Hopefully, the "Chimp didn't know" will finally resonate with people (why DIDN'T he? Hello?).

Or, if his supporters still believe Chimpy's been in charge all this time, how could they believe that he didn't know?

4. A nice beginning: "Probe sheds light on Bush assault on critics"
http://edition.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/10/18/leakprobe.ap
Also, rumors can start very easily. Why, only the other day a friend of mine who knows W's hairstylist told me that he is shredding paper...

6. I was discussing this earlier here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5093149

It is unthinkable that they could be spreading the Cheney resignation rumors if they weren't absolutely terrified that Bush would be named as well.

One person on that thread said, "If you're going to strike at the King...you'd better kill him."

Fitzgerald would be a fool to take down the people he's taking down without nailing Bush too.

7. Who is their weakest link, the one most likely to cave in and squeel?
If Lil Boots was actually in the know, which seems unlikely to me since he never shows real interest in the job, just the trappings, he is also the weakest on the list.

8. Ari left the second the Plame leak occurred.
Colin Powell could have sold him out for humiliating him at the U.N., but I think he's too loyal for that.

Honestly, everyone there has reason to...Bush is a mean, nasty, vindictive S.O.B.

Paul O'Neil said that he once yelled at Andy Card to, "Get us some fucking cheeseburgers!"

Like the Chief of Staff has nothing better to do.

It's not who is the weakest link. It's who is the one with the biggest grudge. :D

9. bush is their weakest link
and he is a petulant child

I could see him being dumb enough to say one word too many. I could see him caving.

11. My gut tells me Mary could easily have gone in and come clean to Fitz.
My black heart hopes bush rats out his own junta out of damned stupidity and pettiness.

13. They are all cowards at heart, most bullies are.
The real question is, who among them wouldn't squeal?
