How Many Times Have You Been Called To Donate To....
the Democrats in the last 2 months???

I just counted NUMBER 6 TODAY! I've refused them each time, once earlier this week when a very sweet young woman called. I really felt bad for her because she seemed a little "shell-shocked." When I told her that I wouldn't donate because I felt the Democrats have been basically "missing in action" she replied that most people she had been calling were telling her the same thing.

Anyone have any information on how contributions are going for the Democrats these days??? For me, it's just another way to send a message to them. I've signed petition after petition, I've written Congressmen and Senators, I've called them too and done all the things I felt necessary to let them know we need some LEADERSHIP, but am still waiting to see some REAL ACTION!!

And before you slam me by saying we need to donate because we need to elect Democrats to take over the House & Senate, well I just want to know WHY???

I so do miss Paul Wellstone! Unfortunately, the few that are out there fighting need so much help from the heavy hitters and I don't see them throwing them a life-line!

Just MHO!

Many, many times.
And I tell them the same thing you did. "Where the f*ck have you been?" This corrupt lying administration is at its weakest point ever, and the Democrats are so freaking quiet it's like there's NO ONE out there. You don't get these kinds of opportunities just every day. Honestly they have dropped the ball so many times it just seems pointless to give them money. Let them earn it before I give it. Stand up and be an opposition party!

1. I don't know how successful they have been but
I too have been somewhat bombarded and I cannot stand getting the phone calls.

That being said, I do think we need Democrats to take over the House and Senate, the sooner the better. Are they significantly different then the Republicans? Yes, yes a thousand times yes.

Democrats in power can and will halt the destruction of this country. They will try to reverse some of the damage that has been wrought. It will take some time to do this, we need Democrats back in power and we need to keep them there.

We also need to get our party on track for what it should be, but first the country needs saving. Just MHO.

2. I Concede That Your Premise Is Out There....
and I have thought the same thing many times myself. I presume I'm older than you, a Boomer who remembers a different political arena, so perhaps I just more jaded these days!

I've never seen anything like what I'm seeing today. The door couldn't be opened any wider for them to walk through, and yet they can't seem to cross the threshold.

NEW BLOOD... Let's get some!

5. I am indeed a Boomer
born in the mid-50's, and I remember it well. I am not less jaded - I don't think - I just see that our only possible near solution is 2006. Democrats, even the whores, cannot go against basic party principles, and there may even be a few left who have principles.

In spite of the "Who's the biggest Dem Wimp" competition going on in our Congressional leadership, the party, for the most part, votes somewhat uniformly and that should be more cohesive if they are the majority. I understand that there have been some tragic exceptions, like the Bankruptcy bill for example, nonetheless, there is no hope without the Dems getting more leverage.

New Blood - absolutely - the sooner the better. We need to retire the old guard and stop repeating old habits because they worked at some point in the distant past.

Sorry, I went on so.
