James Moore: Fitzgerald asked for copy of Niger forgery investigation
From James Moore's (author of Bush's Brain) recent Huffington Post piece...

<snip>

Fitzgerald has reportedly asked for a copy of the Italian government’s investigation into the break-in of the Niger embassy in Rome and the source of the forged documents. The blatantly fake papers, which purported to show that Saddam Hussein had cut a deal to get yellowcake uranium from Niger, turned up after a December 2001 meeting in Rome involving neo-con Michael Ledeen, Larry Franklin, Harold Rhodes, and Niccolo Pollari, the head of Italy’s intelligence agency SISMI, and Antonio Martino, the Italian defense minister.

Anyone see another article/source where Fitz "reportedyly asked for a copy" of anything to do with the Niger forgeries?

1. Sweet........
maybe we will find out the truth behind those forgeries....and I wouldn't be surprised if it went straight to Cheney's office.

2. I'm sure the Italians are just jonesing to help Fitz
as we haven't yet got appropriate payback
from the Guiiana Sgrena/ and the Italian
intelligent agent Nicoli Callipari incident.

You know what they say about paybacks.

3. Again, have to ask
how does the author know this?

The sourcing is very vague.

8. yep, he slips that one explosive sentence in there
Fitzgerald has reportedly asked for a copy of the Italian government’s investigation into the break-in of the Niger embassy in Rome and the source of the forged documents.

the rest of the article is important, and interesting, but it's as far as I know already known.

But as far as the claim that Fitzgerald is going in that direction, you'd think Moore would support it a little more.

4. Ah, the net widens and a huge scandal leads to even bigger ones...
Commiting treason by outing an undercover intelligence officer of the United States is one thing...I don't care how you spin it, taking the nation to war based on manufactured intelligence is even worse and cannot be described in any other way than TREASON!

6. Like the location of OBL and the identity of the anthrax criminal(s)
the source of the Niger forgeries is among the insufficiently pursued mysteries of the bush-league era. I'm still waiting for an adequate explanation of the short selling of airline stocks in early September 2001. I think the answers are out there if we really want them.

9. Not to mention....
the Air Force buzzing and killing of Italian skiers.

As for 9/11: Never an explanation of the stand-downs, either. Or the collapse of WTC-7. Or the missing "black" boxes. Don't get me started.
