Questions re Harry Reid's "support" for Meirs |
|
Does he actually support her (he's anti-choice, alas)? Or, is he an extremely clever political operator who claimed to support her, knowing a Bushco-embarrassing shitstorm would ensue? I'd like to think the latter is the case. Any thoughts, DU?

1. I think he'd vote for her |
|
She has about the same ideological stance as he does. Reid has no business being minority leader. Boxer would've been a much better choice. Reid is worse than Daschle, and that' saying tsomething.

I think he couldn't resist the opportunity to pull a fast one on GWB.
Recommend a crony that Bush couldn't resist, but that Harry knew would cause a firestorm.
Harry is from Nevada. I've heard a lot of folks there are swift operators.

3. Either way, Bush got played and repubs are in disarray over the nom |
|
Miers is horrid, but a text-book, card-carrying member of the Federalist Society would only have had to peel off a few dems and bush would have looked better than he does now.

5. If he supports her, he no longer speaks for the majority of us. |
