Dear Mr. XXXXXXXX:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the nomination of John Roberts, Jr. to serve as Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

After meeting with him and thoroughly reviewing his record, I, along with a bipartisan majority of the Senate, decided to vote for Justice Roberts. He has a strong reverence for the courts and for the rule of law. I do not believe he will allow personal bias or political beliefs to interfere in the administration of justice.

I appreciate hearing your views. Please don't hesitate to contact me in the future.

Guess I shouldn't waste my time writing him about the Goblin (Miers).

1. Dear Mr. XXXXXXX: I don't answer to you, mere citizen.
Who the fuck do you think you are, Mr. XXXXXXX? Have you donated one single dime to my campaign fund? Do you think I'm here in Washington to waste my time representing The People, when there are many corporate interests whose coffers are overflowing with cash, just waiting to purchase my vote?

You are indeed a silly man, Mr. XXXXXXX, and unwise in the ways of The Beltway. While I appreciate your views, I think you're just a powerless middle-class chump. Please don't hesitate to contact me in the future. I'll have my secretary generate another worthless form letter for you.

Sincerely, Bill Nelson (R - Coathanger)

3. LOL! Thanks for the beltway language translation!
That was my impression, too. And to think I'll have to vote for this corpbot instead of Katherine "cruella the Jeb banger" Harris.

2. I think everyone who voted for Roberts emailed the same thing
I swear that the email I got from Sen. Lincoln (D-AR) said exactly the same thing-not one word of why she switched from voting no to voting yes. She had said when she interviewed Roberts, she didn't feel his answers were such that she could vote yes. And then, when she did vote, it was yes. You can imagine my email to her-and to get this generic answer....

4. I received the same type of snail from Santorum

and also an email from Specter. I thanked them both for their standard GOP form letters. I swear the only things that change on these letters are the fill in the blank names of the constituents, and the topics they are handling in a "bipartisan" manner.

I'm very disappointed.

6. Which is all the more reason to thank her for the standard GOP form letter
