Yet another Democratic Party money begging survey (Iraq? What's Iraq?)
So I find in my mail today another one of those "Road To Victory/Your Opinion means SO MUCH to us/Please send us your money!!!!" surveys. This one is from the Illinois Democratic Party. The survey has a section on state issues, and a section on National Issues, which leads with the following;

Please rank the following national issues in order of importance (1=highest);

Strengthening Social Security
Improving access to health care
Fulfilling the educational promises of No Child Left Behind
Lowering skyrocketing gas prices
Restoring fiscal responsibility
protecting America's national heritage
Maintaining a fair and nonpartisan federal judiciary.

And missing from this piece of consultant generated excrement is any mention at all of the war in Iraq. Almost 2000 dead. Over 10,000 horribly injured. Hundreds of billions of dollars spent. Tens of thousands of civilian casualties. NO END IN SIGHT!.

And it DOESN'T EXIST in the minds of the jackasses that make up these damn surveys.

No. Any Democratic Party group that sends out these surveys will not get a penny out of me.

I will send my money to candidates and organizations that are not afraid to confront the biggest problem facing this nation right now. The Iraq war, the lies that lead us into the war, and the need to hold anyone involved responsible for their actions by openly discussing this issue in 2006.

1. My money goes to Kucinich, Feingold and Cindy Sheehan
They are fighting for what I believe in.

6. True. Many are worthy, few are chosen.

2. Why don't you just withhold support and not tell us all about it.??
That would be better. It is a little obvious here now.

5. Just withhold support, and stop trying to discourage.
Do your own activism your own way.

8. I am sick and tired of LOSING
and we LOSE because a bunch of high prices political consultants have been putting out this kind of garbage for four damn years. Don't talk about Iraq. Don't talk about foreign policy.

Hey. People are dying. IRAQ IS THE #1 ISSUE!

So, as a DEMOCRAT active in the party, I have every right to criticize them. And maybe others will say "hell yeah!" and start criticisning them too. Before it's too late and we LOSE another election.

And, since money is the only thing they seem to understand, the threat of withholding money is the only way to get THEIR ATTENTION!

3. AND...if they did not ask what you thought...that would made you mad also.
So there is no winning....just losing. Just don't donate.

7. Another day, another "how dare the Democrats try to raise money
from the grassroots" post.

Fine. Don't write a letter expressing your concerns about Iraq. And whatever you do, don't give them a dime! Make them get their funds from the DLC's corporate buddies! That'll show 'em!
