Democratic National Committee: Fletcher's Dirty Baker's Dozen
http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=55377

WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The grand jury investigating abuse of the merit-based hiring system in the Kentucky government under Republican Gov. Ernie Fletcher's administration has indicted two more people, bringing the total number to 13. The two most recent indictments went to Kentucky Republican Party Treasurer Dave Disponett and Republican official J. Marshall Hughes.

Democratic National Committee Spokesman Damien LaVera today issued the following statement:

"With the number of indictments reaching 13, Republican Governor Ernie Fletcher now has a dirty baker's dozen caught up in his web of cronyism. The indictments today of two senior Republican Party officials shows that the culture of corruption and cronyism Governor Fletcher has brought to Frankfort is as pervasive as the culture of corruption brought by the Republican Party's leadership to Washington, DC.

"Kentuckians deserve better. That is why Democrats are working to provide the voters of Kentucky and voters all across America with leaders who are committed to sound, responsible government that puts the values and interests of the people ahead of cronyism and special interests."
