Commitment to Four Freedoms... Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Fear, Freedom from Hunger.
Each of these represents Americans' innate desire to be free from the exact abuses of majority power imposed on America by Bush and the radical right.

My thought is that it is necessary to choose to obey, being "broken", or forced (overtly or covertly) to obey, is less than human and, hence, does not fulfill the requirement.
