Condi Rice in today's paper refuses to rule out attacking Syria/Iran
And she doesn't want to circumscribe presidential war powers. Let me see, doesn't the Congress have a role in this ?

Isn't the problem with this administration the fact that untruthful 'situations' and 'circumstances', when the War Powers Act of 1973 requires truthful ones, is what has brought us this Iraq quagmire ?

And now Condi is making noise about attacking Syria and/or Iran. The Congress needs to reign in this bunch, and quickly. While there is still some money left in the Treasury.

"If you try to throw us in jail, we'll start another war and this time it'll be nukular!"

3. That's what I have heard. I laughed out loud when I heard about
Condi's statement. A few weeks from now-or maybe on the day the indictments are announced, the Chimp will decide to let all of us peons in on his new little war.

I don't think there is any money in the treasury anymore, and the debt is financed by our friends in communist china.

6. Well isn't that special.
I guess that Condi and Shrub are just going to have to do it themselves with their merry little band of neocons at their sides.

Syria and Iran have something that Iraq didn't have--like real armies-- and the War President has managed to run our army into the ground.

7. Bush lo volt !
War Powers Act of 1973
www.cs.indiana.edu/statecraft/warpow.html

and the White House website posting of the Iraq War Resolution, Oct 2002
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/10/2002100...

show clearly and unequivocally that the White House used deceit and deception in getting us into Iraq, just as the LBJ White House used deceit and deception with the Tonkin Gulf Resolution --which the War Powers Act of 1973 was instituted to prevent from happening again.

In fact, the WH Resolution refers to the War Powers Act of 1973. And Public Law 105-235 along with the War Powers Act implicitly rely upon truthful circumstances and situations, neocon fantasies need not apply.

The resolution states:

"Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq"...well, they are now that the occupation has occured, so a bit of a self-fulfilling prophesy there.

"Whereas the Iraq Liberation Act (Public Law 105-338) expressed the sense of Congress that it should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove from power the current Iraqi regime and promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime"...so does that mean any illegal actions taken are thus justified ? Deus lo volt, oh, excuse me, Bush lo volt.

Congress must reassert itself before we go too far down paths that will irrevocably damage the "Republic, for which it stands", if we haven't gotten that far already.

The War Powers Act of 1973 is the starting point !

12. Been the PNAC goons' plan all along..."total war." They brag about
it quite openly on their website.
Of course, most people in 'Murka have no fucking clue who/what they are, since the MSM pays NO attention to the neofascist franchise that is BushCo.
