Alberto Gonzales working his skanky ass off right now? |
|
Recall Old Man Bush's Christmas Eve 1992 pardons of Cap Weinberger, Eliot Abrams, Claire George, Robert McFarlane, and some others whose names I can't recall, all involved, indicted, and/or convincted in the Iran-Contra scandal.
Should indictments come out of the Fitzgerald investigation, would Fuckface dare to invoke his power to pardon, and give them all a walk? That would end everything, absolutely, right then.
I have no idea what challenges that act might trigger, but I'm thinking of Nixon's attempt to keep his tapes by invoking executive privilege. We all know how well that worked out for The Big Dick.
It's awfully hard for me to imagine Fuckface just sitting back and letting any of his cabal be taken into the criminal justice system.
Sometimes I hate the thoughts that go through my head late at night.....
:::: sigh ::::

Id say it is time to take to the streets and stay there until Fuckface and VP Vader are sent packing.

2. He'll pardon any of his good buds, but the riff raff will rot. |

God help anybody who rolls over on his good buds! They'll have to depend on Fitz offering them a fair deal.

And I believe he will ...... unless ...... and huge 'unless' it is ...... unless he's also indicted or an unindicted co-conspirator. That will trigger a constitutional crisis and I could see Congress stepping in to stop him from doing such shit.
The only way to kill the beast is to cut off its head and cut out its heart.

4. I can't even imagine how they could spin this on talk radio |

if he does... I'm sure that Rush and Hannity can find a positive in pardoning your buddies and underlings. But it will provide great fodder for the rest of us.
Hell, if it distracts Gonzales from his war on porn for a moment, is it sooooo bad?

5. There's always the pending civil suits. |

I'd like to know why the president even has the right to pardon. Where does this come from? And it seems like a short circuit of justice. That is, unless justices has already gone wrong, and in which case it is used to right that wrong. But that seems stupid.
And furthermore, we have the same people in office who were already pardoned. The should have been sentenced, done time, and been ineligible to hold public office again.
It's all wrong.
The Bush family owns America. They don't "do" jail. You can count on it. But it sure is satisfying to imagine...
