so if you are a Democratic judge |
|
then you can't provide justice for the republican thieves. Just heard on MSNBC Deguerin, Delays attorney, say that because the judge hearing the case has contributed to both the dncc and moveon.org that he must recuse himself. This is nonsense. What kind of mess would we have if every judge and jury had to have the same political leanings? Does every judge and defendant need to have the same political affiliation? What obfuscation. More smoke and mirrors, all presented with the utmost indignation, harrumphing and preaching. What is wrong with our country is the lying, the deceit and the plain illegality of our leaders actions yet in smooth and unctuous tones we are presented a scene of serene smiling innocent blather. Now I'm gonna be sick all day.:puke:

4. If I ever get hauled into court |
|
I'd need to have a judge who drinks the same kind of beer I do. I would have a whole list, and then interview judges until I found one I liked.

It's the whole judicial and law enforcement machinery.
Your conviction should be thrown out if the ticketing/arresting police officer and prosecutor don't meet your high standards.

6. Yep, I heard that objection during the hearing. |
|
WHAT? Should we then assume that NO DEM can get fair treatment from the Justice Dept. because the AG is a Pub?
Then I thought, maybe this is a good thing. I've certainly always heard that the one thing you DON'T want to do in court is piss off the judge! I know if I was the judge and the defense atty told me I couldn't be fair because of my political affiliation, I sure wouldn't be HAPPY!

7. And yet, they didn't see any need for Scalia to recuse himself |
|
from hearing the case about Cheney's energy commission even after Scalia and Cheney had flown together to go hunting. Does this qualify as a flip or a flop?

9. Grasping at Straws perhaps??? |
|
So, if Delay wants the judge to recuse himself, then perhaps he can explain why it's ok for one of us, to have a judge from the opposite party, but not him...Do any of us, have the audacity to raise hell or ask our judge's political affiliation IF we come before a court? Sounds to me, as though Delay might be a tad worried about the outcome? What?? Does he actually have something to hide??? Seems to me, when he goes to court, it will be a jury of 12 people who will hear the case, and make the decisions as to his guilt..not the judge...the only thing the judge does is sit over the court, make rulings during the trial, and hand down the sentence IF he's found guilty...I guess I might be more concerned about how the people of Texas feel about me, if I were him.. Oh, I know what it is...if his pResident can stack the SC in his favor with cronies, Delay wants the same priviledge...but he ain't pResident..he is, after all, just one of us...no special favors, buddy...you takes your chances, just like we'd have to... windbreeze
