Is there any plan to emphasize the death toll in Iraq when it hits 2000?

I don't mean to sound insensitive here. I'm wondering if the media will play up the rising loss of American lives once a new milestone is reached.

I can't believe how the daily death toll is relegated to the back pages of the papers and hardly ever makes the news programs anymore.

These are sons, daddies, brothers and sisters of real live families that are suffering horrible personal loses. Have we become so hardened to this mess in Iraq that these deaths have become just another day at the office?

Surely by this time next week it will top 2000.

We are planning to hold events the day after the 2,000th U.S. death in
Iraq is reported. We will send out an email to you when the count gets to 2,000. Right now, we are at 1993. At the current rate, we may reach 2,000 reported deaths this weekend or early next week. (It is sad that we are so close to this milestone.)

We anticipate that other organizations will be planning events that may be later in the week. We are flexible to the needs of the community. To find when the event near you will occur, please find your event on the web site at http://www.afsc.org/2000/ and check the details.

Local organizers have been emailing people who have signed on. We will send out an email when we reach 2,000 and ask that you try to have your event the next day.

that she is going to chain herself (after making a speech) to the gates of the white house and plans on being arrested. Upon her release, she says its back to the white house for another arrest and so on until they bring the men and women home from the war.

I'll offer that perhaps we shouldn't make a concerted effort to exploit it, but rather to emphasize it, exactly as Lastlaughin08 said.

Instead, perhaps we should make a concerted effort to remember and honor a milestone number of soldierssoldiers that have died under such a moron-in-chief.
