4. They say he really really likes to get
corrupt people and prosecute them. He would probably be truly bored on the supreme court, but Attorney General would be right up his alley.

5. True. If only there was someone equivalent in diligence and
nonpartisanship who could be on the SCOTUS.

6. I don't think he would accept it.
He doesn't like to show his views. But he would be a great Chief Justice. He's the best and the brightest.

7. I think John Roberts would object to that...
...the only way he's leaving office is in a body bag.

12. That may be Bush's plan to get him off the track.
If they pull Meirs and nominate Fitzgerald we know we've been had.

Actually, if everything I've read about Fitz is true he'd probably wear a wire to the meeting and add Shrub to the indictment list (if he isn't there already) for trying to bribe a US Prosecutor.

13. I doubt we'd like his decisions very much on the bench.
While he seems to be a first class prosecutor, he seems like the type of person who would be very strict in his interpretation of the Constitution, and leave the federal government little wiggle room.

I could see him agreeing more often than not with the Scalia wing, the difference being his opinion being rooted on more solid legal ground.

14. No, wait. Let him finish. All in good time. Then nominate him.
