Dick Cheney: Unindicted coconspirator? That's my prediction.
That's my call. I can't see a scenario where it won't happen, given what we have heard to date. Shades of Richard Nixon, for those of you old like me.

4. That would be great, wouldn't it?
But so far as I know, he wasn't called before the Grand Jury to testify; therefore he is peripheral, yet central - like Nixon. Same situation, that's why.

6. Thanks for the answer. I forgot about them getting to have it their way
when they talked to Fitzgerald.

12. So because he didn't put his hand on the bible and say
"So help me God" he gets off scott free?

There has to be some punishment for lying to a federal prosecutor, under oath or not.

16. Not scot free. The prosecutor has found wrongdoing. . .
. . .the investigation will continue. He did not testify to the grand jury, so he can't be formally indicted for perjury. More will come.

7. I think he'll get indicted.
I think he's guilty as sin and that Fitzpatrick got at the truth.

Cheney will be indicted.

Bush will be an unindicted coconspirator.

That's my prediction.

8. The only reason for Nixon not being indicted...
... were DoJ findings at the time which implied that there was a Constitutional bind in indicting a sitting president (on the basis that there's no specific remedy in the Constitution except impeachment, even though the Constitution does not rule out indictment).

That finding did not apply to the vice-president. And, as we saw, Agnew's departure was proof that it did not. Therefore, if the grand jury feels there's probable cause, they can indict Cheney. There would be no point in naming Cheney as a co-conspirator without indicting him.

The same is not true of Bush.

Cheers.

11. Thank you for that!
I thought there was some protection for the president. Now, how do we go about getting a Democratic majority so we can impeach Bush?

Wait, I know...kick ass in 2006?!

13. And according to Franken
you can execute a sitting vice president, but not a sitting president.

15. If someone is a co-conspirator how can they not be indicted? "Un-indicted
co-conspirator sounds like an oxymoron.
