Who watched The West Wing last night? |
|
Pres. Bartlett fired Toby Zeigler on the spot. It was amazing how seriously a Democratic administration dealt with a staff member who leaked classified information.

12. I don't like the weird screen shots they keep doing where the scene is out |
|
of focus but one little weird thing is in focus. I can't figure out the purpose of it.

2. Still trying to figure this one out |
|
At the beginning of the first episode of this year when they all met at the opening of the Bartlett Presidential Library, POTUS asked Toby how life was at Columbia. This was 3 years in the future and they all seemed pretty cozy. Could it be that Toby is not the leaker?

why would toby confess and give the reason he did it. his lawyer was talking about the public being on his side and he might just get a year and a fine. so he could be at columbia 3 years later.

So, we meet AGAIN!!!!
This is getting downright weird!!!
Anyway, I'm about to log off now, as we're about to have dinner and watch 'Prison Break' -- which, BTW, may be Libby & Rove's favourite TV show in the months to come!!!!
Will probably be back later -- CU then!

8. Well, he definitely got confessed to (and got canned for) it. |
|
There's always the possibility that he was taking the fall for someone else, but I honestly don't think that that was the case. I just think after three years apart, things had a chance to cool off between everyone. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and such. :)

9. I keep wondering that too. I think it is going to be Margaret. |
|
Toby couldn't have known that it actually existed since it was only a hypothetical when he and CJ talked. So that should be his first defense I think. I bet Margaret listened to one of CJ's conversations on the phone and heard about it and leaked.

3. Sanity check for all Dems ... |
|
... always watch the West Wing as though Bartlett was actually the president, and this is how the Administration was run.
... Always watch actual footage of Bush as though it were a sit-com.
It's not much, but it works!

6. did ya happen to catch Rob Corddry on TDS last week |
|
He talked about this Admin. as if it were a badly written tv show. Said that the Osama character was introduced in the first season and then never heard from again. :spray:

... AlWAYS stealing my BEST SCHTICK!!!!
Yes, actually I did see him. It struck me because I had posted a message on AmericaBlog the previous day, talking about how when the critics did their final analysis of this Admin, it would be hard to figure out just which episode 'jumped the shark'.
I think he used that line, too. No, I don't think he COPIED -- I think a lot of us tend to think in the same way, using the same cultural references.
You just have to spend an hour or two on DU or any such site to see how often a half dozen people will post the same thoughts at the same time.
I'm a BIG CORRDRY fan, by the way ....
Added as EDIT: To prove my point about people thinking the same thing at the same time, 'CatMother' is my sister. She lives in Arizona, and I live in Toronto, Canada. We both started posting on DU a few weeks ago -- and it's incredible how often we wind up on the same Discussion Thread at exactly the same time!!!!!
