Iraq: "If you knew then, what you know now,... |
|
would you still have voted to...blah blah blah..."
Why are the Dems dropping the ball on this question? Seems to be a common question on the talking heads circuit now.
Being asked this question is the PERFECT opening to run down the "laundry list" of falsehoods and lies from the Bu$h Junta regarding Iraq, and to claim deception.
Instead, people like Schumer, are saying, "Yes I still would vote to invade".
When is my party going to get some balls, swing for the fence, and start telling it like it is? I am fucking sick of this shit.

Don't let anyone off on this. Those who sent USA to war must be held accountable.
Don't accept I didn't know what was being done. Hold them accountable!

If a brain dead twit like myself could use Google to find the fallacies of the Bushie's war propaganda during the lead up to the slaughter, there's no excuse for our Dem leaders to have dropped the ball so egregiously.
Hold the bastards accountable, indeed.

"I made a mistake' means I'm stupid, believed the propaganda and can't be trusted to make good decisions by ferreting out truth from fiction.
"I would still support invasion" means, I'm stupid and would go into an idiotic war for no reason even though I now know that its a disaster that we won't win, will cost tens of thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars to make matters in the world worse.
they should have voted the right way to begin with.

3. It's too bad that Shumer and others |
|
think that if they say they were lied to by this administration and that's the reason they voted for this war..that they'll look weak. Why don't they realize that admitting this would make them look strong?

4. I frankly thought Congress would not give Bush the power |
|
He had become President so oddly I was sure the Dem. would not go along. I think a list of every one that voted for this war should be run daily and we should vote no on every one of them. They should have protected us.

Prior to them voting I was researching the "lead up" to war. Just my internet searching and research told me that this was a smokescreen.
Now, if little old me can know this then why the HELL didn't those in power? Don't they have staff members that could have researched this? Bullshit...absolute bullshit.

8. I guess they thought that... |
|
voting for war would give them "cover".
It just may have the opposite effect.

9. If you're a New Yorker, vote against Schumer in the primary. |
|
Otherwise, focus on your own elected officials.

11. Tell the shows that invite him to stop doing so. |
|
Otherwise, you really don't have any say over what Schumer does or does not do. He is not your elected official. You are not his constituent.

13. 1. They don't want to risk being called flip-floppers |
|
is my guess.
2. They're afraid they don't have enough "cover" to step up and say they've changed their minds.
3. They're beholden to the oil companies and military contractors who are making huge bucks off this war.

14. Bingo- don't want to be labeled flip-floppers and undermining troops |
|
Dems are afraid Repubs will smear them as wishy washy unpatriotic wimps who would have let Saddam remain in power, if they now say they would have voted against the war. Repubs would talk about them wanting to cut and run when the going gets tough and soft on terrorism, etc.

that's the problem in a nutshell.
They are cowardly whores, selling out, and killing tens of thousands in the process.
They should all be in the Hague at a war crimes trial for enabling the neocon war of aggression
