The NYT has said that Cheney told Scooter Libby of the name of Valerie Plame. Does anyone think the White House is pushing for a oppurtunity to put Rice as the VP? I do not think that Rice will be the VP if Cheney is forced to resign in that I do not think she can win the general election. I think a more likely pick would be Jeb Bush in that he can get the Republican base in turn out in '08. So what do other DUer think? His Bush pushing for Rice to be VP?

1. Yes this is what I started thinking last week when it started to leak out |

that Cheney was involved. This has either been the plan all along, or they are using this crisis/scandal as an opportunity to get Cheney out and get Rice in, setting her up for '08. Seems pretty risky for them to try her, but it sure is looking like that's what they're up to.

3. pushing Rice as you quote |
|
is only something the GOP is doing to make themselves feel better about their racism. "Look, we're seriously considering nominating a black woman for president...you don't see the Demos doing that." If they did nominate Rice, she'd lose. I saw this happen in the Louisiana governor's race when Bobby Jindal lost to Kathleen Blanco. Jindal is of Indian descent (100% I believe) and there were a lot of voting booth conversions in Blanco's favor by people who can't vote for a minority.

5. That's What I am Thinking |

That is what I am thinking. I think Condi would lose the election in that people in the South would not vote for her. So I somewhat think the idea of Condi being put up for VP was just a smoke screen to get the Democrats to show their '08 hand. However, I may be wrong. So what do you think about Jeb being put as VP? Do you think that is more likely?

6. as VP to replace a frog-marching dick |

or on the '08 ticket?
I do not see one of these pustulent (pustulous) Romanovs settling for a VP slot on a ticket. Putting him in now to set up '08 makes more sense.
Among other things, I would run against that ticket (VP Jeb at the head) by asking the country, "Is this our country, or the Bushes?" That sort of message would resonate with a lot of swing voters (I have given up hope of the Demos nominating a progressive).

to keep PNACs evil plans carrying on. Jeb would be my guess, he is a charter member....and they own the voting machines.
