Harry Reid asking us to contribute directly to candidates thru ActBlue.
Dear _______,

The Republican-controlled Senate is NOT doing its job - that sad fact hangs over the Capitol building. Republicans have completely ignored one of Congress's most important responsibilities, investigating the Executive Branch. In the 1990's Republicans jumped at the opportunity to investigate the Clinton administration, but as soon as George Bush came to power their desire to do their jobs diminished.

It has been 835 days since staff in George Bush's White House leaked the name of a CIA operative to enact political revenge for contradicting facts about the basis for going to war in Iraq. Yet Republicans have REFUSED to allow the Senate to investigate, REFUSED to use our subpoena power to call members of the administration to testify, and REFUSED to help the American people learn the truth. And the CIA leak case isn't the first time this administration has failed to give the American people the full facts. Democrats have a plan to restore honest government and confidence in our democracy.

We cannot wait until 2008 - we need to take back the Senate next year. We have a great group of candidates challenging Republicans across the country and today I am asking you to directly contribute to the campaigns of Bob Casey in Pennsylvania, Claire McCaskill in Missouri, Jim Pederson in Arizona, and Bernie Sanders in Vermont.

Contribute to their campaigns directly using ActBlue by visiting:

Democrats also have excellent candidates running in primaries in Ohio, Montana, Tennessee, and Rhode Island. With such a strong slate of candidates and Republicans failing to find top tier challengers for Democratic Senators, taking back the Senate in 2006 is within our grasp. The culture of corruption that has consumed the Republican Party will be their downfall.

I pledge to you - help me become Majority Leader and Democrats will bring transparency to the most secretive administration in history. We have great candidates running and they need your help. Together, America can do better.

Thank you,

Harry Reid
