Anyone here bracing themselves for an anticlimactic Fitzmas?
I guess the only thing is to hope like mad that the only gift under the tree won't be the equivalent of that lousy clip-on tie and socks set.

After the 9/11 commission fiasco, I'm just sayin'...

2. I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up
but the thought of a jail cell slamming behind some of these administration dirt bags is just so nice.

4. I hate to be pessimistic..
but, every time I get excited about Fitzmas...this bad feeling sneaks up on me and I imagine no indictments and the repugs laughing, and laughing, and laughing....UGH!

5. No need to brace, I fully expect to be let down

6. Expecting the worse, here, hoping for the best.
I expect no indictments. That way, if there are any, it will all be pleasantly surprising. However, expecting no indictments is less than my rational mind believes is likely. I DO think that somebody will get indicted. It is how many and how high up the food chain it goes that's iffy for me.

8. Anything could happen
The last thing Bush wants right now is arrest mugshots of Rove all across the media. Plus he knows he's screwed without Rove. So you can be certain that behind the scenes right now some furious plotting is taking place.

One thing we've learned is that these people are capable of anything. What's to stop them getting to Fitz and in no uncertain terms letting him know that the best decision for his health would be a no indictments decision? Does anyone doubt they would do this?

9. I am, I'm afraid it will be a lot less than expected and the MSM
will treat it as a major victory that there were so few indictments.

You know how they spin ... if there aren't Brazillions of indictments they will say, "Nothing to see here, move along!" Now, let's talk about another missing white woman!"

11. No spinning.
If there are only a few indictments for obstruction of justice, or perjury, then Bushco HAS won a major victory. And if it looks like the charges are mostly technicalities such as minor inconsistencies rather than deliberate lying, somebody's credibility will take a major PR hit, and it won't be the administration's.

These bastards have been very good at making everything we do to expose them as the lying hypocrites and murderers that they are backfire on us.

10. I don't think the 22
counts rumors are true. I bet it is just Libby and Rover for perjury. Got my fingers crossed though.

14. If I were a Republican, I would want Dems to have high expectations for
Fitzmas so that there is a lot of room to feel defeated and disappointed.

If you believed that only one or two guys would be indicted for obstruction of justice (which, if they were in the Clinton administration, you would have argued was a hanging offense for the man at the top), the way to make it seem like no big thing would be to make it feel like Rove and Cheney and Bush were all going to get indicted.

20. Me me me
I tried purposefully to stay away from giddy Fitz posts, so I could keep even perspective.

Last year's election taught me to not count chickens before they hatch.

21. I feel the same. I was so sure last November that Kerry would
win (I know he did really) that I was absolutely crushed and devastated. I want to get excited about Fitzmas but I don't want to be crushed and devastated again if and when the Bush Crime Mafia win again.

22. Not bracing for, sorta resigned to.
And am amazed by the folks who insist that tomorrow the world will stop turning and the BFEE will crumble like Dracula in sunlight.

We can wish, but to hang our hats on it ?? Ain't wise, IMHO.
