Grand Jury. The Fourth Branch of U.S. Government?
Sometimes when I'm bleary eyed from reading posts a phrase or a thought refuses to
leave my head when I retire for the night. Someone, somewhere on DU said this about the GJ;
"...the GJ is the 4th branch of government..."
Where would we be if it were not for the GJ now?
What if as I FULLY BELIEVE, the U.S. Congress and Executive and Judiciary were bought and owned by the corporates? Dems different than Repugs? We remind ourselves every day here on DU that the distinction between the parties is like discerning white thread from black thread at midnight.
This is it in my mind. The GJ is people power. This process being run by a lawyer, a member of a class I have scorned with jokes and snide remarks over the years god forgive me is the last hope of this Republic.
(que orchestra)
I am hanging on to the process. I want to run away but I can't and really I know I will be part of the collapse of the greatest democracy in history if I do run away.
At the very least this GJ process convinces me that the country is not cooked yet.
I'm hanging in there.

2. We'll forgive you, child
We lawyers are a generous group.

But, NO MORE JOKES!

And, while we're waiting for whatever news might come, here's a picture of Fitzgerald at work to cheer you up:

4. If things go as we all hope they do,
won't it be fun to watch the rightwingnut weasels squirm as they try to wiggle around the meanings of words (a la Bill Clinton parsing "is," a very valid point he was trying to make at the time, but which was completely misunderstood by the unwashed), try to downplay the treachery associated with the crimes charged, and the bias - here we go again - of the left-wing media.

My dream Christmas list, is of course, Dickless Cheney mug shot t-shirts for all..........

Yes, that is an angry rabbit. Bugs Bunny has always been my roll model .......

6. Just saw a juicy tidbit
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 10:58 PM by bluedawg12
on Sucker Carlson- I guess he got some news hot off the fax, I think WaPo, and the news tonight is that there will be indictments regarding the 1983 laws about outing spies. The big enchilada.

After the horror show they pulled on Big Dog and that whole media Ken Starrightwingho' circus it will be sweet if it comes to pass.

P.s. rumor has it that you have, had, or will have a cat that drinks beer? Is this factually correct? As a cat owner I have some concerns, naturally, don't want to take chances, cat nip has been problem enough.

peace out-

bluedogger
