Katrina evacuees moving into Tom DeLay's district |
|
according to a brief (very) blurb in Newsweek's Periscope. Just that statement and "Gulp." Nothing more.
I never read that before but it restores my faith in karma. Har de har har.
Get out another bag of Jiffy Pop and put it in the microwave!

3. As a resident in DeLay's district, so what? |
|
If there's room here, and residences, I'm glad. It has nothing to do with karma and everything to do with victims of Katrina finding a home and some peace.

5. I wish the evacuees well as you do |
|
I think that the karma is that DeLay will be judged by people who have felt the effect of Republican "governance." I would welcome Katrina evacuees in my neighborhood also. But my congressperson is Rosa DeLauro, a progressive lady.

4. A fairly meaningless comment. |
|
There's a good chance they're black, but not necessarily. Not all NOLAers were black, not all "evacuees" are from NOLA.
They're likely lower-middle class to poor, but not necessarily.
They might be from NOLA. But not necessarily.
More info would be interesting. Probably.

6. Hmm. I don't think I mentioned anything about race |
|
But the evacuees have had a horrible experience with this Republican administration. That was my point about karma.
Geez.

Chances are the evacuees from N.O. will not have the highest opinion of the criminal. I believe it'll dilute the 'burb block.

9. Now I see why repukes want to put that poison pill in the housing bill |
|
That one that keeps nonprofits, including religious organizations, from encouraging poor people to vote.
They don't want their criminal mastermind voted out of office!

Remember back in the day when "motor voter" was being voted on in Congress. These bastids voted against it! They knew that it would increase Dem votes. Unfortunately, it only increased registration. We still have a problem getting out the vote. Gotta do that!
