Gov. Bush: 'You should have listened'
BayNews 9 (Tampa Bay), 10/26

http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2005/10/26/125446.html

South Florida residents complaining about post-hurricane conditions are receiving no sympathy from Governor Jeb Bush or other federal officials.

Bush said Floridians had plenty of time to prepare for the storm. He said he advised people to have food and water on hand before Hurricane Wilma hit.

Hurricane Wilma's death toll continues to climb in Florida, with officials reporting 10 have perished.

"You should have listened." That's what state and federal leaders are telling people in South Florida waiting in long lines for food and water. Bush said he advised people to have three days of food and water on hand before Wilma arrived.

2. Like they should expect a sympathetic ear from that pig....
Rethugs always make it sound so much simpler than it is for real people. But then again, they elected that jackass.

10. Thanks Gov. Bush!
This should peel some votes from Puggie candidates in 2006 and 2008! Compassionate conservatism, my ass!

Jebbie and FEMA is about as ready for this as FEMA was for Katrina and Rita. I can only imagine what would be going on if southeast Florida were flooded out and/or completely and utterly flattened. It would probably be worse than anything that went on in Louisiana and Mississippi.

13. I live in hurricane territory and have ridden out a few
and evacuated for several.

You use empty one gallon milk bottles..fill them with water and freeze them. They will last for a few days when the power is off.

I don't think people did prepare for this one. They thought it was going to be a 2 or a 1.

(I'm still happy that Jeb is being snippy and I hope people get pissed off at him anyway)

16. BayNews 9 has since changed its headline
Changed from: Gov. Bush: 'You should have listened'
To: Authorities say Floridians had time to prepare

Maybe the newsroom got a call from one of the governor's assistants.

17. Ice keeps 3 days very well...yeah right.
Water runs out a couple of days before the storm even hits. We have Crystal Water service with the cooler, and they ran out also. Luckily last year we kept back ups on it.

Stores often run out of things like bread, canned goods before the storm.

It costs money to stock up, water costs money, food costs money.

Just STFU, Jeb. You did not do well by us last year, really, though all the media pretended you did. FEMA was 4 day sending ice to Tampa to get to Punta Gorda...4 days just to get the water to the airport.

18. God: "You Should Have Listened"
Former Florida Governor, and one time Presidential hopeful Jeb Bush's complaints about post-life conditions are receiving no sympathy from God and other Heavenly officials.

God said Bush had plenty of time to prepare for the Afterlife. He said He advised people to have their lives in order before The Day of Judgement hit.

The Day of Judgement's damnation toll continues to climb in the Bush Family, with officials reporting 10 having been damned over the past several generations.

"You should have listened." That's what God and Heavenly leaders are telling people in Hell waiting in long lines for food and water.
