....he never has liked Fitzgerald since Judy Miller was in jail due to his investigation.

I remember every night at the end of his show he would say Judy Miller has been in jail x number of days. I think he really had a lot of problems with jailing journalists and I know he doesn't have a good opinion of Fitzgerald just for that reason. So maybe that's what prompted his 'we have more important things to discuss' comment.
