Fitzgerald vs. Ken Starr
I keep hearing how Republicans aren't complaining about Fitzgerald the way Dems complained at Ken Starr.

From what I know, Starr and his investigation were:

a) going beyond the scope of his investigation,
b) he had many leaks coming from the grand jury,
c) the final report had such graphic detail as to be considered a smear tactic,
d) it took six years to complete,
e) it cost $50 million, and
f) the investigation into Whitewater closed with "insufficient evidence."

Whereas, Fitzgerald was picked by Republicans, versus Ken Starr being an independent counsel. Whereas, Bush had already said that Fitzgerald was competent, so it would look too hypocritical to complain of partisanship now.

Don't let Republicans get away with saying that they've taken the high road compared to the whitewater investigation. They're totally different scenarios.

My sources: From wikipedia's whitewater scandal entry and this CBS news article:

1. Plus, Ken Starr wanted to photograph Clinton's penis
to see if it "leaned" the same way Paula Jones said it did. That's some good investigative techniques Ken. You're a regular Sherlock Holmes.

3. Right, and the subject matter is just a TAD more important in today's case
Hello? Justification for WAR? Exposing an undercover CIA agent in a private vendetta??

I'm so sick of it. Come on Fitzmas...

2. Clinton was never accused of doing anything that hurt the Nation.
A crummy land deal twenty years previous in which no wrongdoing was discovered, and a blowjob. Vital matters of national concern, I'm sure.

Bush and his cabal have compromised the security of all of us!

If terrorists obtain a nuke, :nuke: it will have been with the assistance of the Bush administration. Plame's operation was successfully gathering info on that area of concern. :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

5. You bet we complained about Starr...
Isn't it obvious why? Starr doesn't hold a candle to Fitzgerald. Starr lacked ethics, integrity, morals and professional conduct. Enough said, IMO.

Peace.

6. Ken Starr was a freaky-leaky media ho'......
and I think it cost well over 70 "brazilian" ? Goofy Republicans for letting that go on as long as it did, and we weren't at war or suffering national and international disasters at that time either.

How the hell are we paying for Katrina, Rita and Wilma anyhow  I know we're into the mega-brazilians right now, should I learn Chinese?
