2. With the website address listed in the OP: www.christianexodus.org |
|
from the website:
"ChristianExodus.org is coordinating the move of thousands of Christians to South Carolina for the express purpose of re-establishing Godly, constitutional government. It is evident that the U.S. Constitution has been abandoned under our current federal system, and the efforts of Christian activism to restore our Godly republic have proven futile over the past three decades. The time has come for Christians to withdraw our consent from the current federal government and re-introduce the Christian principles once so predominant in America to a sovereign State like South Carolina."

4. Sorry, I should have made it clearer . . . |
|
I support their withdrawal from the US - as soon as they "secede", they should give up all the protections of the US and their voting rights. Let them become a new country.
And take all the Christo-Fascists with them. And long live the progressive country which the US would become through their absence.

5. They've been talking about this for a long time. |
|
South Carolina already tried to secede. Hint: It didn't work out.
Besides, there are people in South Carolina who would resist.

6. I'm not saying SC secede - the people in the group would find a nice |
|
island - and then secede.
Last I heard, there was only a handful of people . . .

8. Why give them a NICE island? |
|
Perhaps there's one in the Arctic that the Inuit aren't using. Healthy exercise & a diet of walrus blubber would be just the thing.
Of course, with Global Warning, they might end up floating away on ice floes.

10. The Daily Show covered this a few months back. |
|
Talked about how people were going to South Carolina, and Ed Helms (I think it was) added, "Yes, because South Carolina has such a great history with accepting minorities".
Best line:
The guy who organizes this is apparently living in California. The interviewer asked about it, and when he might be coming to South Carolina, and the believers just kept saying, "He will meet us there soon". So finally the reporter asked "Is he punking you?"
