peace takes courage (powerful video)
do you support immediate withdrawal? i do ...

Seymour Hersh recently said that the first senior Democrat who calls for immediate withdrawal from Iraq will be a "shoe in" ... the rest of them think seem to think "we can't just leave" ...

check out this powerful video and explain to me why we need more of this ...

2. Thanks for the link.
I can't stop crying. I feel like sending it to everyone of my relatives and friends who voted for Bush. But I won't.

bring peace. We need to focus on how best to bring peace AND bring the our troops home as quickly as possible.

We have a responsibility to do all we can to leave Iraq in peace, not even bloodier chaos.

5. to leave Iraq in peace...
Is an impossibility in our lifetimes. They have tribal issues that we'll never be able to solve. Peace will come faster, if we leave. Then let them invite us to stay, if they think that our peacemaking skills will be helpful to them.

In the meantime, the terrorists will continue to kill anyone who represents our country. It won't stop. It's time to schedule the withdrawal and stick to it.

We have no business being there unless we admit that it's ALL about business. Then let Halliburton pay for the costs of doing business instead spending our country's dollars and our children's lives.
How about if they actually pay for the oil that they're stealing?
Maybe that will help to bring peace.

Sorry this is a rant on your post. I'm a Clarkie too.

6. I'm not sure RELATIVE peace would come faster if withdrew immediately

and completely tomorrow, but am am sure need to get out of there a.s.a.p. without leaving even more bloody chaos.

I wish during the constitution vote there was also a referendum on withdrawing U.S. troops completely and immediately. At this point we need to consider what the majority of Iraqis want as well, and that is not entirely clear. I'm not certain they want jeoporadize the little security they have by an absolute, immediate withdraw. We do have a responsibility to plan our withdrawl in a way that most benefits the security and well-being of the Iraqi people.

7. "also a referendum on withdrawing"
that's one of what i consider to be the only 3 viable options ...

it would be great if General Clark and those who support him would push for an Iraqi referendum that could be combined with the December election's ...

we already missed making this part of the constitution vote ... let's not miss the next window ...
